The buzz is on for that one heated, frenzied weekend that signals the start of summer in Montreal, when all eyes of the F1 contingent and international media turn towards the city. The spinoffs, both real and indirect, are immeasurable, and the world class flavor of the 514 courses through the core like Hamilton on a straightaway. Of course, partaking in the excitement means being organized, and having a game plan of the best cocktails and parties to attend in order to make the most of the summer’s hottest scene.

But let’s face it, there are events, special menus, and guest appearances galore, all crammed into a few days. To help you sort through the mix and give you the grandest ‘prix-party’ roster we can, we’ve scoured social media, eavesdropped in all the right places, and weighed and pondered the invitations as they arrived to come up with a varied selection of this year’s top picks. Possible to do them all?  Simply upshift into high gear, grab thee a Red Bull and you never know! They are:

La Plage Möet & Chandon, Maison Boulud

Next to the restaurant’s entrance fronting Sherbrooke St., the venerable Golden Mile’s Grande Dame will roll out a chic pop-up beach in partnership with the bubbly brand.  Consider it our city’s very own slice of St. Tropez and hit it up for a cocktail and the best sidewalk people watching around.

We’ll be at the exclusive media launch Wednesday afternoon for a first look, so be sure to check in with our social media for a glimpse.  And in case you miss catching some rays here during F1, it’s staying put until July 1st.

‘Exclusive blowout’ best describes the weekend’s flagship event that in only 2 years has become Grand Prix’s most coveted ticket. It’s the party you want to be seen at, the one you want to dress up for, and the one of which stories are made and recounted.

This year promises to outdo itself with DJ YO-C, special guest appearance by F1 winner and Red Bull Ambassador David Coulthard, a viewing of the Red Bull Racing show car, Moêt bar from 7-9pm, open bar until 2am, food stations from executive chef Johnny Porte from 7-9pm, dessert stations after 9pm, live performances throughout the evening and luxurious gift bags.

Holt Renfrew, 1300 Sherbrooke St. W

Consider this a weeklong event, as the city’s premier purveyor of luxury brands will offer shoppers plenty of in-store F1 animation and surprises.

Of very special note is a display of The Official Formula One Opus collection, an assembly of large-scale (approx. 90 pounds each) coffee table books that give new meaning to ‘capturing the moment’ with spectacular photography, editorial, and interviews, much of which has never been published before.  We had the pleasure of attending a ‘high on wow-factor’ media breakfast to learn more about Opus, and experience some of the marvellous content for ourselves.

An example not to miss:
The Champions Edition: strictly limited to 100 copies worldwide, presented in a custom carbon fibre clamshell box, edged in silver leaf, and individually varnished, this edition showcases more than 1000 images and is personally signed by all the 22 living F1 World Champions and Bernie Ecclestone. Retail: $30 000.

The collection will be on display and available for purchase exclusively at Holt’s Montreal from May 29th until June 10th, 2015.
