A trend we hope continues to grow, the rise of urban maple syrup-themed menus across the city proves that the springtime ritual of 'sugaring off' isn't relegated only to country farms and sugar shacks far removed from the city core. While Cabane à sucre pied de cochon remains several notches above for elevating the classic, somewhat staid 'welcome Spring' meal of ham, baked beans, an scrambled eggs doused in the sweet stuff, diehard urbanites can now enjoy signature menus by celebrity chefs, specially-conceived cocktails, and 'city does country' decor at some of MTL's trendy restos, hotels, and event spaces.

One noted 'not-to-miss' is a series of cocktails put on the Golden Mile's Sofitel Hotel's Restaurant RenoirLaunching tonight, and for the following three Wednesdays #RenoirEnSucre is a hip and happening 5 until 'whenenver' offering 2 Sortilège cocktails and two of Chef Perret's bouchées for $20.
Pierrick Jallais, the restaurant's mixologist, let us in on what makes up his specially conceived drink: a combination of maple and apple, Sortilège brings sweet and woodsy notes, gin adds a touch of spice, and cranberry rounds it off.

What more can we say than roll up your checkered shirt sleeves and delve into it!
