In one of our typical whirlwind weeks of work and social commitments, invitations that come through the mail make us pay
special attention, particularly when they come with gifts enclosed...
The package that arrived in the mail a few
days ago gave nothing away as to its contents.
Inside the nondescript box was a black silk bow tie bordered with light blue stitching, and stamped with the male gender symbol. The printed piece of card stock that lined the underside of the box cover gave us all the 411 details, which not only elicited an anticipatory taste of what to expect, but also a beeline into our agendas as this Thursday's list-topping social and fundraising event.
Groupe Antonopoulos, the uber-successful hospitality company behind many of Old MTL
key hotels and restaurants, is once again taking on the fight against prostate with their second annual Affaire Papillon. A
Movember must held within the greater context of men's health, the evening takes place in the Hotel Nelligan’s elegant
ballroom and will feature a silent auction, open bar, and food stations from the neighbourhood's renowned restos. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to PROCURE, the
Quebec charity founded in 2003 that fights prostate cancer on three
fronts: awareness‐building, education and
support, and research.
